Review the following list of key terms:
BOOTP—
A protocol used primarily to assign addresses to diskless clients.
DHCP—
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. A protocol that provides dynamic assignment of IP addresses.
DHCP client—
A computer that contains TCP/IP software and is not manually configured with TCP/IP parameters.
DHCP server—
A computer that is capable of configuring DHCP client computers with an IP address, a subnet mask, and other TCP/IP configuration parameters.
scope—
A range of IP addresses controlled by a DHCP server. These IP addresses are intended for lease to DHCP client computers.
