Chapter 9. Inside Monitoring Tools

This chapter describes four principal tools used to monitor SQL Server: Activity Monitor, which is a component of SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Agent, SQL Server Profiler, and Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) using the SQL Server Management Pack. Chapter 9 also contains numerous monitoring scenarios that should guide readers in tool selection and usage decisions.
