Purely Webstores, the UK based e-tailer, have expanded its product offer, despite the economic climate. Car audio equipment, and a much enhanced range of marine electronics have been added due to public demand.
At the end of last year, Purely Webstores had been concentrating on satellite navigation and Global Positioning Systems. These included major names in car sat navs such as TomTom, Navman and Magellan as well as more niche products like Racelogic PerformanceBox and DriftBox car performance equipment, Road Angel speed camera detection equipment and SPOT personal Satellite trackers.
By including the Garmin Range of sat navs and GPS units, sports watches, cycling gps units and marine units such as hand held GPS’ and multi function devices like marine gps /chart plotters/ fishfinders/depth sounders.
“We were pleased and amazed to see the interest in the marine products” Darren Stokes, a Director and co-founder of Purelywebstores said. “We were also being asked for car audio equipment makes, like JVC, Sony, Kenwood and Pioneer. Well; enough people asked us, so here we are with all those makes as well as adding Raymarine products.”
Raymarine products have added significantly to the range. Raymarine was formed by a management buyout of Raytheon Recreational Marine Division in 2001, and now produce an extensive selection of sophisticated marine electronics spanning compact and handheld VHS radios to multi function display units for GPS, chartplotter, fishfinder and Radar.
The audio units are also selling well. With units ranging from the Kenwood KDC-241 SA CD Receiver, through CD auto-changers to multi units like the JVC KW-NX7000 Navigation/DVD/CD/USB/SD Receiver (which not only provides in-car entertainment but is also a fixed in-car sat nav system), this part of the business is expanding rapidly.
“There is method in our madness,” Darren admits, “convergent technology means that, where we started with GPS and sat navs, these functions are now available with other products as wide ranging as car audio equipment and fishfinders. Our customers like our quick, reliable and safe service, so we will continue to offer more, related products.”
And that safe and reliable service is something that Purely Webstores has had from the start. Darren and his co-director, Mark Charleton started up Blue Solutions Ltd, one of the first e-commerce software distributors, more than 12 years ago and brought the philosophy into Purely Webstores when they started it up.
“In the early days of Blue Solutions, carrying out financial transactions, like taking credit cards payment, over the web were pretty scary for both us and our trade customers. Now, people are a lot more used to it, but some consumers are a bit nervous, a bit like the trade 10years ago.” Darren explained. “But being an accredited retailer of ISIS and IDIS, gives our customers the reassurance that they are dealing with a reputable company.
