Using Fills and Special Effects

Full-feature image editors allow you to apply a wide range of different fill and other special effects. Fill effects can include gradient, pattern, and texture fills, for instance. Special effects can include buttonize, drop shadow, inner and outer bevel, cutout, and many other effects that can be applied to images or object within images. Several forms of gradients, which are fills which blend two or more colors, can be created, including linear, rectangular, starburst, and radial gradients. For instance, Figure C.9 shows a text object in Paint Shop Pro to which linear gradient and drop shadow effects have been applied.
